Our History
Life With Jesus Ministries was initially formed in December of 1999 as a radio ministry, airing a thirty-minute weekly program. On August 11, 2002, the first service was held with approximately fifteen people in attendance. Three weeks later we had the official dedication service. Since the opening day, beginning with only Pastor and First Lady Watson and their two children, Sarah and Trey as members, God has blessed LWJM with eleven families and eight single family units totaling approximately sixty members. God has certainly been gracious to us.
The Lord led Pastor Watson to the Waccamaw Pottery area by divine intervention. After being turned down once, a new, onsite facility manager allowed the ministry to use 2 of the 4 bays in the building that was the former Adidas outlet store. At the end of the second Sunday morning service, all in attendance and wishing to participate took a walk of faith around the entire facility, claiming the entire building as ours. For Deuteronomy 11:24 says, “Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread, shall be yours...” Starting with the theme, “Lord Build This House,” we had no idea what God had in store for us.
Approximately 11 months after opening, our faith was tested. On Wednesday, June 18, 2003, the message stating someone was interested in the building was received. With that news, we knew we had claimed the building and felt we should step out and trust God. With less than twelve months in existence, we were blessed to obtain a loan for the purchase of the building. However, our faith was again tested. For, the very next week we found out the owner had decided to sell the property to someone else. As Pastor broke the news to the congregation, instead of feeling defeated, we were able to celebrate victory. We were encouraged by the word the Lord had given Pastor to speak, that even in the face of adversity, “All is Well!!“ Indeed, the prophetic word gave birth to a miraculous victory. For two days after Pastor preached, “All is Well,” and informed the congregation that we had six months to find another place to worship, another call was received from the bank. Yes, it was a fact that we had been approved for the loan. It was also a fact that an agreement had been signed by the owner and someone else for the building. But the facts were not lining up with the truth. The truth is, that on July 18, 2003, exactly 1 year from the day we signed the lease, what once was known as the Adidas building was now the home of Life With Jesus Ministries!! We are looking with great expectation to God’s plans for our future. As we have believed God and walked in faith thus far, we will continue to believe the Lord for the things we desire to do in the future.
